Forward Thinking

Forward Thinking

It can't be denied that internationally, prices are increasing, and it's as true in this industry as any other. The price of steel has rocketed over the last few years; an industry problem, faced by everybody involved. The question is, what can manufacturers do to reduce the extent of the problem for themselves and their customers? Is there anything they can do to reduce the negative effect of current global factors? MCS certainly intend on trying.

Sales Director, Warren Gray, has recently become an Officer in the BTMA (British Turned Parts Manufacturers Association), which acts in the interests of over 70 SME Turned Parts Manufacturers in the UK. Their motto is "To encourage, assist and promote the membership to be a competitive force in a Global market". Warren is amongst a handful of other selected Officers, who research Global issues to be raised at quarterly meetings, where best plans of action can be established throughout the membership. Warren explains, "I wanted to be an Officer because we wanted to help where possible, as well as absorb help and advice where applicable for MCS. It's of paramount importance to all of us that we sustain a healthy marketplace here in the UK. Putting competitiveness to the side, we are a stronger force as one unit, as opposed to having only internal experiences to draw from."
